Sophia's Birthday Cap Pattern

This cap is knit from the topdown, beginning with a wonderful cast on from Cat Bordhi’s book “Personal Footprints for Insouciant Sock Knitters”. After this cast on you increase evenly at 3 points along the crown creating a slightly peaked triangular top which glides into a simple round “body” for a few inches which you can use to entertain multi color stripes, a fairisle motif, or anything else you might imagine. The border is a simple garter stitch band that divides into earflaps and I-cords to tie under a small chin.
