Mock Argyle Socks Pattern

This started out as a Patchwork Girl's sock (Wizard of Ozreference). But "everyone" said it looked like a men's sock. And, in fact, it did. It also looked a lot like an Argyle – thus the name. The Argyle effect is created by use of left and right twists for the diagonals and several diamonds. The other diamonds are in purl.
