Old Icelandic shoe-inserts found in museums in Iceland inspired this lovely blanket.They were knitted in Icelandic intarsia, which is intarsia knitting worked in garter stitch. The tradition had been lost until Hélène revived it in her book, Icelandic knitting using Rose patterns (Search Press 2008).

Some colors used in the sample are no longer available; we have made color suggestions in the yarn calculator below.
