This slouchy cloche style hat is knit from the bottom up in a worsted weight yarn. The i-cord belt loops and cabled band are knit separately after the main portion of the hat is complete. Four loops are sewn at even intervals around the forehead (pattern notes where). The cable is laced through these loops and then sewn together. A strategically placed button covers the cable join seam.
Under the decorative cable is a section of ribbing to help the hat fit securely around the forehead.
