I designed this pattern when a friend askedme to knit some bags to sell at the local farmer’s market. As I looked through patterns, none were quite right. I wanted something easy, no lace patterns to keep track of, yet still cute and functional. This bag is the result. It has a base for greater capacity and is knit entirely in garter stitch. By changing to a larger needle size an openwork feel is achieved without any difficult lace patterns. It is seamless, except for a small strap seam at the top. It would be good for an advanced beginner, but still fun for an experienced knitter.
