Comfy Car Coat Pattern

The Comfy Car Coat is based on a simple and classic jacket design, making this your go-to coat for chilly weather. Using three strands of worsted weight yarn held together, not only will this jacket knit up extremely fast but it will also be extra warm and comfy. Marilyn Saitz Cohen, author of Knitting Simple Jackets, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended Boston University where she studied English literature and the fine arts. After graduating, Marilyn began exhibiting her work in art shows and galleries. She began knitting and designing sweaters in the 1980s, and formed a cottage industry, employing many local knitters as independent contractors. Sweaters for women, men, and children were hand- or machine-knit and sold to boutiques and department stores on the west coast. Marilyn’s first book, Knitting Simple Sweaters from Luxurious Yarns, was published in 2003. She has a daughter, Lisa, and lives in northern California with her husband, Dr. Robert Cohen
