The Carlisle Hat is a simple yet striking colorwork project that uses 4 colors ofworsted weight yarn and an easy purl ridge hem. This project is a good choice for knitters new to stranded color knitting as it has no shaping. The Carlisle Hat can also be made as a cowl.
The Carlisle hat pattern gives instructions for making three hat sizes and you can also vary the length if you prefer a less form-fitting hat. The hat is sewn together at the top and the two edges are attached at the inside of the hat.
