Cacti Socks

This simple to knit sock is knitted from the cuff down. There is a 1-inch rib cuff, followed by 16 pattern repeats for the leg portion. The short row heel allow this sock to fit perfectly in the heel. The foot is knitted in the eyelet pattern across the instep and the bottom is knitted in stockinette stitch. A tapered toe, knitted completely in stockinette stitch, is achieved with decreases, and the last 10 stitches are stitched together using the Kitchener stitch. The eyelet and ribbed patterns are quickly memorized, yet there is enough variety in this pattern for the knitter not get bored.
