Inspired by my Aunt Shirley, this is a hat worked in 1x1 ribbing with doubleincreases and decreases that create a diamond pattern.

Skills needed: To knit this hat, you need to be able to knit, purl, and work a double increase and a double decrease (explained below). You also need to be able to knit in the round on both circulars or double pointed needles (or usinganother method of your choosing). You will also need to be able to knit fromreading the chart, instructions are included.

Some colors used in the sample are no longer available; we have made color suggestions in the yarn calculator below.
