The lace motif on this bias-knit shawl was inspired by traditional Ethiopian embroidery. This is typically done on white or natural cotton, which is why the model piece shown in the extra images is done in white cotton yarn as well. However, the shawl will also work beautifully in a variety of fibres and colours.
