Winterchild is a square wrap with a vintage look, and as frothy and airy as new fallen snow. In spite of
its intricate appearance only three stitches are used throughout the shawl, and the construction is simple.
It begins with a large center panel knit in one piece and ends with a knitted-on border. The vintage look
is achieved through the combination of traditional Orenburg elements for its snowflake-themed center
panel, and traditional Old World patterns for the edge. Overall, it is a great pattern for those lace
beginners that are ready to face their first challenging pattern. Useful links to tutorials are provided for
the most challenging techniques.
