This skirt transitions beautifully from a light and airy fabric at the botton into a more substantial garment as it shifts up. Knit in the round in a simple stockinette stitch, a transparent lace weight yarn slowly combines with heavier yarns to achieve this stunning look. Combining this technique along with using a looser gauge that gets denser allows this skirt to achieve a smooth tonal and textural transition - perfect for day or night.
Laura Zukaite moved to the United States from Lithuania when she was 18 years old. A recent graduate of Parsons School of Design, she has published designs in some of the major knitting magazines and collective designer books. Luxe Knits is Laura’s first solo book and represents her design philosophy and creative process. Laura is currently pursuing her career as a sweater designer in New York City.
