This design forms a continuous i-cord edging on all sides as you go: when you’re done, it’s done. The pattern stitch works well with built-in i-cord and adds a lot of style. Slipped stitches create a cable effect without the use of a cable needle. The pattern stitch is easy to memorize, but there is always a little something going on to hold the knitter’s interest. The i-cord cast on isn’t difficult, but may be confusing at first. For that reason, “how to” photos are provided to assist the knitter. Instructions are given for two sizes: Afghan (40x52 inches, in bulky weight yarn) and Lap Robe/Baby Blanket (30x42 inches, in worsted). Additional information is included on how to adapt the design to any size or gauge. The Lap Robe and Baby Blanket are identical – only the color and recipient give it away!
