The large city of Senneh, now known as Sanandaj, is located in eastern Iran and serves as the source of inspiration for this pair of socks. Senneh rugs are especially well known for being among the most densely knotted of all Persian rugs. One common motif is an embellished flower surrounded by four curved leaves. Another equally popular motif that the Senneh use is a boteh pattern, which looks like an angular paisley. In this case, the socks take their visual cue from the latter. A boteh motif runs down the leg and foot of the sock, while the panels of ribbing on either side frame patterned column. This versatile sock design is restrained in its patterning, making an ideal choice for both women and men. Shown in Gloss Fingering Masala.
