Scratch That is a Combination Shawl that uses short rows to display colorful stripes. This crescent shaped shawl has so many directional changes in the pattern it feels like you can't make up your mind while knitting it; you get halfway across the row and then turn around thinking, "Scratch that. Reverse it."
The shawl begins with a garter stitch starter tab and has a short section of plain stockinette before work with the Contrast Color begins. There are three sections of Contrast Color stripes; each time the short rows are built up on the right side of the shawl as you're knitting, and then when the wedge is wide enough they are balanced with more short rows on the left side. The shawl is finished with a deep 4x2 ribbing.
