This dress was designed for my daughter who loves towear pretty feminine dresses with loads of detail and aslong a hem as possible. Pinnate was designed to have adetailed lace section while still being appropriate for ayoung girl to wear. The skirt is full without beingoverwhelming and the bottom lace hem gives detailwithout being fussy. The lace back panel allows the hem ofthe skirt in the back to dip lower than the front whichmeans the hem can appear lower but not trip the child.Pinnate was named after the feather like features of alavender flower the lace in this pattern mimics thestructure of the petals.
?Pinnate: resembling a feather especially in having similar partsarranged on opposite sides of an axis like the barbs on the rachisof a feather?

I just finished this dress for my grand-daughter. I can't tell you how THRILLED I am with the result! The dress is absolutely beautiful!! I can't wait to block it and see it on her! Not only was the pattern easy to follow, but there was no sewing to be done to complete the project! The only seams are at the shoulders, and they were finished with a 3 needle bindoff. The only "sewing" that needed to be done was the weaving in of the yarn ends. I simply can't say enough about how well written the pattern is, and how easy it is to follow. I will be looking for more patterns by this designer. THANK YOU!
