The Pashmina & Silk Jacket exudes a classic elegance. Knit out of a DK weight cashmere blend yarn that is held together with a lace weight silk blend yarn - you will create a luxurious jacket that has added softness as well as a subtle sheen. Chic and stylish, this jacket also features deep cuffs, a doubled funnel-neck collar along with a belt. Knit in pieces while using a simple ribbed design, this jacket will keep you warm and stylish through the cooler seasons. Pattern from Knitting Simple Jackets.
Marilyn Saitz Cohen, author of Knitting Simple Jackets, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended Boston University where she studied English literature and the fine arts. After graduating, Marilyn began exhibiting her work in art shows and galleries. She began knitting and designing sweaters in the 1980s, and formed a cottage industry, employing many local knitters as independent contractors. Sweaters for women, men, and children were hand- or machine-knit and sold to boutiques and department stores on the west coast. Marilyn’s first book, Knitting Simple Sweaters from Luxurious Yarns, was published in 2003. She has a daughter, Lisa, and lives in northern California with her husband, Dr. Robert Cohen
