The original concept for these gloves came from a motorcyclist, who requested a pair of formfitting, elbow-length gloves to keep the air from blowing up his sleeves as he rode in cold weather. Well, they happened to look just fabulous on the knitter, too,
making this a great unisex pattern that knits up quick and is easy enough for an
advanced beginner: the cable pattern is a simple six row repeat and all other stitches are stockinette. Choose your size by measuring in inches the diameter of the arm just below the elbow and multiply by five, then round down to choose the number of caston
stitches closest to that total. Sizes Small and Medium use almost exactly 220 yards of yarn. The larger sizes use just a bit more (there could be a matching hat in your future).
