Kensington Fingerless Gloves is a dainty pair of gloves in the same style and using the same stitch patterns as my beret pattern “Kensington”. Fingerless gloves are a fantastic accessory, useful in keeping the hands warm while allowing one to use one’s fingers, and a delightful style item to boot. These gloves feature a fairly simple lace pattern on the side facing out, with stockinette stitch on the side facing in, making this a good first lace project. More experienced knitters could enjoy this project as something more interesting to knit than plain stockinette stitch, yet easy enough to work while doing something else at the same time (“tv knitting”). The gloves are knit in the round from the cuff to the top edge and just like the Kensington beret, the ones shown in the pictures were knit in a delicious alpaca-silk blend. Taking two skeins of a worsted weight wool, they are a pretty quick knit, great for near-instant gratification or last-minute giftknitting!

Yarn used in the sample is no longer available; we have made a similar yarn & color suggestion in the yarn calculator below.
