Kelso is a sporty, lightweight pullover that is perfectly balanced with a touch of feminine lace. This sweet hoodie is the perfect wooly layer as the cooler months transition to spring.

Kelso is worked flat in one piece from front hem, casting on for sleeves, and splitting at front neck. Then, the lace panel is worked up the center front and splits in half to be worked up front edges of hood while the hems and cuffs are worked as you go. Finally, the hood is picked up around neckline and worked up. The pattern features both written and charted instructions for the lace portion of the design.

The sweater turned out great, but about drove me crazy on the hood. Finally copied the chart on the copier, cut it in half, as the directions have you splitting the lace part, then taping it together to reflect the way I was knitting. It really is an interesting approach to sweater construction
