The Grass Basket Cropped Ruana Vest features a repeating and interlocking motif that was inspired by a Yup’ik grass basket on display at the Museum of the North in Alaska. Ideal for knitters wanting to take the next step in lace knitting, this project allows you to try your hand at knitting a garment while incorporating lace work. The vest has little shaping throughout the body which allows you to concentrate on following the charts while you work the armholes and neck. The front and back are knit in one piece until the armholes are reached, so no side seams interrupt the design. The pattern uses charts for the lace work portions of the pattern.
