Three strands of yarn are used throughout this project with no more than two strands of the same color at one time. Don't be afraid to use totally different colors rather than different shades of one hue. You can use the quilter's trick of looking at different colors through a piece of red plastic to see which of the colors you're working with will be the dark, medium or light. This pattern is worked circularly, joined with a sl st at the end of each rnd. You may want to weave in ends in the back as you go. Work loosely enough to keep the rug flat, but tightly enough to keep stitches close together.
