Perky little nubbins in nice, orderly rows give this pattern just the right amount of texture to get the job done. The bumps are easy to make without any decreases or increases necessary, just clever little “chains” of knit stitches that pucker forward on the following row.

If you read the review I wrote yesterday please ignore it and read this one. To get this pattern to work, and be symmetrical, I needed to cast on 37 stitches and change row 9 and row 11 as follows: Row 9: k4, sm, *k3, (knit next stitch etc.). Repeat from * across ending with a k1 before the second marker , sm k4. Row 11: k4, sm, *k1, (knit next stitch etc.) k2. Repeat from * across ending with a k1 before the second marker, sm k4. Also, when you slip the stitch back on to the left needle it needs to be slipped knitwise, so the stitch gets twisted when you knit into the back of it, otherwise it doesn't create a bump. Hope this is helpful. Nice little cloth.
