Directions for this project inKnitter's Almanac. Known among knitters as "the best baby sweater ever", this little charmer works up quickly, is self-finishing, and has just two tiny seams to graft at the underarms. In true EZ style, however, no sizes are given. You can use different weights of yarn to make different sizes, or, perhaps, as Elizabeth would do - find a baby to fit the sweater! Our sample is knit in Superwash Merino DK Weight Bare which resulted in a 20" chest circumference. Expectant moms and grandmothers are sure to oooh and aaah over this one.

Notions: 8 tiny (1/4" to 3/8") buttons

Needles: Size 6: circular or straight
