Sometimes inspiration for a new design hits you like a bolt of lightning literally! As I was sitting on my balcony with some lace yarn and matching beads struggling to come up with a unique design, a flash of lightning struck nearby. Thankfully, instead of the lightning, an idea struck me!
Bead lightning! Lightning in which the intensity appears to vary along the path and which resembles a string of beads! The pattern appears as panels of vertical and horizontal bolts of lightning when it is worn.
Great for a beginner to become familiar with working with lace and beads and an advanced knitter who likes elegance and the drape that beads lend.
Beads are strung before knitting.
Written instructions with charts for two sizes.

Tassels with beads--optional. There is enough yarn left over especially for the smaller shawl for tassels but no instructions are given for adding them.
