I'm very disappointed in this set. Since I have purchased separate Caspian tips in the past, I decided to treat myself to a complete set. The needles in the set are far inferior to the tips purchased earlier. The set needles are surprisingly blunt and seem to be less substantial. The cords are inflexible at best. I plan on returning the set and will continue to work with the ones I purchased earlier.

I will have to add my negative review of Knitpick's wooden interchangeable needles. I too have had more than my share of needles separating from the metal shaft. When I've informed Knitpicks they always without question sent a replacement; but the replacements eventually did the same thing. I love knitting with these, but I finally gave up using them with confidence. Who needs to be gingerly knitting along only to suddenly find your stitches dropped because your needle disconnected while adjusting your knitting to knit the next row?! I've told the staff at Knitpicks that they need to insist on better glue where they are made at the factory. And I have both sets of the pretty wooden ones. The metal ones are good. No problem and it is what I am using all the time now. I really did not want to give a negative review. I love KnitPicks for their yarns and fantastic service!

I typically use DPNs and historically have really disliked circulars in general. My yarn always seems to get caught on the connections, plus the cords always seem so stiff and curl funny when I'm using them. I've been eyeballing this set to have as a 'just in case' type thing, and recently purchased them during the sale. Have used them for a few projects and honestly they are great! Very well made, awesome quality as usual for knit picks. My only complaint is that the right needle always seems to loosen while knitting and then my yarn gets caught, but honestly I think that's more my issue from knitting tightly and slowly twisting the needle vs improper design by Knit Picks. I have already gotten rid of all of my circs and will officially only use these in the future. Worth the investment!! :)

I LOVE these needles. The only time I have problems with the tips unscrewing from the cable is when I don't take the time to use the key to tighten them. When using the key, make sure to hold on to the metal part of the needle or you risk breaking the connection of the wood to metal. These are my go-to needles.

I absolutely love these needles. I rave about them to anyone who stands still long enough. They are light and smooth. I used to use cheap aluminium needles that started to scratch, and I also tried bamboo in the past that bent and were much too sticky for my style. The wood has some grip, but the thread slides smoothly on them. The points are sharp and easy to grab wool with. The cables lock in using the little key that is provided. I did have my 6mm with a slight chip when I received them that was catching on the wool, though customer service replaced these instantly. I love that I can have multiple projects on the go, and just swap my needs for stoppers. I love them so much, I also bought the straight set for my Nan. I did have issues with delivery on my second order, but customer service worked hard to resolve this, and I am overall happy with the experience and the product.

I love my caspian needles, in the almost year I have had them I have only had one issue, on my size 8 tips one of the has become a little worn and the texture is off. This may be due to the fact that my 8's are one of my most used tips but it is never enough to make me not want to use them. I am slowly replacing all my other needles with knitpicks Caspian. Keep up the good work and great customer service

Stunning needle sets! I thoroughly, unreservedly recommend them. In fact I am puzzled as to why anyone questions their effortless use and effectiveness. I am amazed at how much difference fine tools make to the knitting experience. I often knit in the park ( I live in Australia) and people have stopped to talk and enquire after my distinctive needles and the "dishies" I am knitting. Fabulous.

I love these needle more than the bamboo or nickel! Sorry I've never purchased them before now! I Plan to add the Double sided , straight ,crochet hooks a few at a time

Just a tip for those forgetting to stop every now and then and tighten the needle to the cable. (I do this before each knitting session) I put the medal key in the pierced hole in my ear. Always there. No problem. Love. Love. Love my knitting needles from Knit Pic.

After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to buy only the two sizes of KnitPicks Options needs that I needed immediately and two 24-inch cables. I read a lot of reviews by customers that said the needles come unscrewed after only a few rows or rounds, but then I also read reviews by customers who were completely satisfied. I also read an excellent professional review on a knitter's review site (who knew such things existed?) and decided to go ahead and try Options. What I discovered on my first use is that the problem many users are reporting of the tips becoming unscrewed is easily solved by tightening the connection between the tip and cable with the metal key included with the cables. Even though I couldn't feel the needle turning any tighter than when I did it by hand, I found that I could not unscrew them from the cable without the key after tightening them. I'm working on a sweater on my new Options needles; I have nearly completed the back and front, and I have not had any problems yet. I love the needles and plan to buy more tips and sizes as I need them. My only critique is that one of the needles seemed to be coming loose from its metal endcap--the part with that screws into the cable; however, I just pushed and twisted, and it went right back in. I continued knitting with it and haven't had any more problems. I would also like to add that I LOVE the screw-on caps that come with the cables. They allowed me to put stitches on hold by just knitting the "live" stitches onto another needle, unscrewing the tips, and putting the end-caps on. Then, when I needed to start working with the held stitches again, I just took the end-caps off, screwed the needle tips back in, and voila! I can't say enough how much I love these needles. Five stars and two thumbs up from me!

I feel as though the negative reviews do not get published as someone below also stated because I wrote a review on my terrible experience with these needles and it is not in the reviews. If this is the case, I'm very dissapointed in knit picks, because I could have been saved from purchasing this cheaply made set. I have a problem with a majority of the needles in the set, I also purchased the tips in size 13,15,17 and these were immensely more problematic. The wood piece fell out of the metal piece of numerous needles and the connector piece was broken on several. I was sent replacements for some but the same problems occured. I strongly urge you to run away from this set. Very pretty, but I can't knit with broken needles.

Complete disapointment. I have had many issues with these needles and just sent them back for a refund yesterday. One of the needles when I purchased then was broken, so I called for a replacement pair, knit picks was very accommodating, received the new pair and they were broken in the same way the first pair was. Working with the other needles in the set, I had more problems, several of the needles broke apart from the metal piece, making them unusable. I might have thought it was just the set I received that was the problem, but that is not the case since I had the same problems with the replacement sets I was sent. I strongly urge you to stay clear of these needles because they caused me nothing but problems.

I received these needles for Christmas and I love them. Great finish on the wood, the tips are awesome, cables are flexible, joins are smooth, and they are gorgeous to look at. Best value out there for an interchangeable set of needles.

3 out of 5 stars

These needles are BEAUTIFUL but I find it very strange that they don't make a 16 inch cord for these. That's the size I use most often and would be the most useful. Very disappointing!

Love, love, love these needles. I love knit picks wooden needles regardless of if they are interchangeables, DPN's, or fixed circulars. I especially love this blue/green color, but the natural and rainbow colors are really cool too. The set is great, really fills out my needle collection, and I like having multiple cables. Also love that the wood needles don't split or splinter like most of my bamboo needles have (I must be unusually hard on my needle tips). Love the points on these too, hate dull needles.

5 out of 5 stars

I received these for Christmas as a gift, and it has taken me a while to really use them, but now that I have, I'm in love with them. They are really smooth to use and are really easy to work with.

4 out of 5 stars

I love these needles; they are light and easy to use. They're also quite beautiful . The purple cables, however, kept breaking. I finally figured out that I could replace them with the green ones for large projects. These work much better and last longer, but I think the cables for these needles need to be seen as disposable.

4 out of 5 stars

I haven't used these extensively yet, but I am enjoying them so far. However, I'm having the same problem that a lot of people are reporting here, which is that one of the needle tips came out of the metal join almost immediately after i started using it. Knitpicks' customer service is excellent though, and I am getting the tips in that size replaced for free, and all it took was a five-minute call. I got them as a gift more than six months ago, so it's reassuring that KP will replace damaged items in that situation!

5 out of 5 stars

Wow, are these great! I own several circular sets (five? Six???) and none of them have been quite what I wanted. But these are PERFECT! Tips are neither too blunt nor too sharp, soft non-memory-retaining cords that I don't have to wrestle with, tips stay screwed on and don't budge through hours and hours of knitting, and the finish is to die for! So satiny smooth, almost as slick and fast as my addi turbo's (which are a bit too slick for my taste). I have no idea what other reviewers mean by these having a "sticky finish" cuz mine are just the opposite. I was a little concerned that the dark finish might transfer to lighter colored yarns or onto my hands, but need not have worried as that hasn't happened. I will definitely be buying another set of these to keep on hand!

This is my first interchangeable set I've bought. I tested out the nickel plated needles and decided to go with the wood because the greens are just so beautiful! I would like to rate this higher but there is one problem I've had with them. On two separate occasions with two different needle sizes, the needle popped out! I've lost my stitches multiple times. I managed to glue one back in but it occasionally pops back out. Sometimes in other needles they twist and I get paranoid they will pop out but they have not. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who's had this problem but I feel like I should have went with the nickel plated. I can deal with it though, after moving on from cheap aluminum needles this feels like a god sent.

5 out of 5 stars

These look lovely and I'm seriously contemplating buying the set. However, a lot of my projects call for circulars with a 16 inch cable. If these needle sets included a 16 inch cable I wouldn't hesitate to buy them but...

This is my second review of these needles--the first review never appeared on the site. (Sure hope this company isn't suppressing negative reviews because people need to know this.) I was very excited to get the Caspian Interchangeable Needle Set. They are gorgeous; however, a knitting needle has to do more than just sit there and look pretty, and these DO NOT work well at all in my opinion. My main problem with them is that they are extremely, excessively, unnecessarily sticky. I have bamboo needles that are supposed to be sticky, and the bamboo aren't even THIS sticky. I was having to force the yarn up the left needle every round; whereas, with my Knitter's Pride needles, the same yarn just glides over them. So I am extremely disappointed because they would be super nice needles if the finish on them wasn't so absymally horrid. So a note of warning: If you want needles with a smooth finish that yarn glides over, DON'T buy these! (Now, we'll see if they publish this review.)

I purchased the Caspian Needle Set, they arrived today, and I transferred a blanket I'm knitting to the new needles and LOVE the Caspian. They are light to hold, yet you feel the strength and quality of the wood. The points are very pointy, but I like that feature, as there is no question while knitting and watching a movie... no dropped stitches. The needles are very precise. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. As soon as I finish the blanket I'm starting a sweater with the new Galileo yarn that also arrived today. I'm one happy knitter.

5 out of 5 stars

If I could rate these higher than excellent, that's how much I love these. I also received outstanding customer service when I used one of the needles the first time it did crack but a replacement was sent straight away. These are so smooth an the colors are so rich, I've not had burrs as I've had with another brand. I can't praise these enough!

4 out of 5 stars

I absolutely love these needles and the color is gorgeous! The only complaint is after I have used them for a while my hands turn a greenish color from them lol.

I got a set of interchangeable Caspian Sea knitting-needles. Just love the looks of them. Knitting with regular yarn is ok I guess. My usual needles are addi needles. I find the Caspian Sea needles not slippery enough. I was hoping to knit super-fine lace-yarn with them but the tips are a bit too blunt for that also the cords are a little stiff and get in the way. So far the only needles I can use for the lace-knitting are the fixed addi lace-needles as even the addi interchangeable needles have the connection of the needle with cord not smooth enough. Still am happy I have bought them and hope I will get used to them over time when I knit with regular yarn, as I love the looks of them very much.

I received my set over the weekend. I have to say, they are gorgeous. I love that the sizes are laser engraved on the needles now, and these are now my go to needles because of the sharp tips. Absolutely perfect!

2 out of 5 stars

The tips themselves are great, but the cables are stiff, and they're constantly coming unglued and you have to request replacements. I've had almost my entire set of Caspian tips replaced since I purchased them 6 months ago. (The size 5 have somehow survived.)

5 out of 5 stars

I love these needles! I am a new knitter and this was my first set. I like the warm feel of the wood rather than the steel. These colors are beautiful! They feel very well made and I have no complaints as of yet.

2 out of 5 stars

These are beautiful needles and I love the presentation; however, the first time I attempted to use the size 5 set, the tips came loose from the base. Yes, I can fix it with super glue, but this was a problem with the last interchangeable set and KnitPicks must know about it by now. I should not have to glue in the tips to all my brand new needles. Additionally, the turquoise cords seem to be less flexible than the purple ones. Overall, I am not particularly impressed with this set even though they are lovely to look at.

5 out of 5 stars

I love these needles. I love the texture and the points on these needles. I recently had a problem with one of my tips, made a call and the customer service was phenomenal! Not only a great product but great people! Will definitely be recommending more and more!

These needles are great! Really smooth. I am enjoying using them.

These needles are the best needles I've used, and that says a lot through the 12 years I have been knitting. The joins are perfect, the tips are exactly what a needle should have, and not to mention the color of them are beautiful. I also have a set of the Rainbow Harmony and I couldn't be more pleased with every interchangeable set of needles I've purchased. Thank you knitpicks for making such incredible, AFFORDABLE, beautiful sets.

4 out of 5 stars

I do really like this set but there is one thing I'm not happy about.a lot of my projects require a 16" cable. Why can I not get that size cable for the interchangeable set?? Now I have to buy individual sizes to use the smaller cable

3 out of 5 stars

I love my Caspians! I got them for Christmas and I've loved them from day one. When the wood came out of the metal join on one of the size 9 tips, KP replaced it for me, no questions asked. However now I have a size 10 tip I'm using that has the same problem - the wood is loosening up in the join and is going to come out at any time. I have a friend who's had the same problem and is getting her tip replaced. Not sure what's going on here, but I think they need better glue...

5 out of 5 stars

I received this needle set as a Christmas gift from a good friend. I had enjoyed knitting quite a bit before getting my set of Caspians, but it was really just a hobby for me. Something I would do when I was bored. I've always preferred working on circulars for all projects, even flat knits, but I've hated the cords and textures of just about every needles I've ever owned. From day one my Caspians were different. The texture of the needle is fantastic, not to mention what a blessing the flexibility of the cords is. The colors of the needles are absolutely gorgeous. I have never been more in love with knitting than I am with these needles. They are comfortable to use and durable and there's just something about seeing a project being worked on such a gorgeous set of needles that makes knitting it that much more satisfying.

5 out of 5 stars

I've used a lot of different needles over the years, and my favourites have always been IONX (for those of you that remember them!). However, with a change in job and a need to do more flying, I've had to transform my needle set into more of a wood-base in order to avoid hassles at the security line. These needles have been the best purchase I have ever made. They hold the stitches well, without too much resistance (something I've encountered in the past with bamboo, so I definitely appreciate the smooth texture of these needles), which providing an excellent point and a wonderful resistance to abuse. I knit every single day, and I often have a million projects on the go, and these needles hold up to every challenge I've thrown at them. My only hope is that they eventually bring out a 16" cable for the interchangeable - While I don't mind magic loop for most of my projects, when I'm finishing necks on pullovers, a 16 inch is just much less cumbersome.

5 out of 5 stars

Love these needles! I've been knitting for 8 years now and always wanted a nice circular set. Finally found one! And for the price, way better than the other brand alternatives. Not to mention they are beautiful.

Great tips on these needles. Love them

5 out of 5 stars

I received these needles for Christmas, and I cannot put them down! They are an absolute joy to knit with - the wood is so smooth and silky, not to mention GORGEOUS. The joins are also so smooth, they're barely noticeable. And the cables are pliant, but not too much so. I fear I am now spoiled for life by these wonderful needles!!!

5 out of 5 stars

These will be a belated Birthday present to self. I'm loving the colorway. Had the acrylic needles, but with my heavy hands, they always break. Especially the thin ones. Hope these fair better!

5 out of 5 stars

I agree with everything everyone else said, plus I like the new case for the needle set: there is a slot for each pair of needles with a card that fits in to make it easier to keep the sizes sorted. I have a needle gauge, but it's nice to be able to keep them organized. There are two pouches on the back for keeping cables and other items.

5 out of 5 stars

I've had the nickel plated and the Harmony needles for several years now. I love them! But when I saw the Caspians in one of my very favorite color combinations, I ordered a pair to replace a lost Harmony. How NICE to see the needle size engraved on the needle finally!

5 out of 5 stars

I'm a novice knitter and just ordered these a couple of weeks ago. First of all, they are GORGEOUS. They very nearly glow. More importantly, they are wonderful to knit with. They are smooth, pointy, and the cables seem quite sturdy. Heck of an upgrade from the cheap needles I was learning on. Love them!

Love love these needles, smooth and fun to knit with!

I just purchased this set of circular needles and they are amazing! I had a set of circular needles from Boye and where the needle and cable join they where getting stuck. Very annoying. These are amazingly smooth! Love them
