Choose from four different colorways complete with a pattern for the Chinook Shawl and the Pyrifera Scarf.
The Chinook Shawl pattern, a true lace knit with patterning on both sides, is still easy enough for new lace knitters to make. From a beginning row of eyelets, the lace pattern grows to resemble rippling waves, fish scales, or the surface of clear water viewed from below. The piece is knit with 2 strands of yarn held double throughout, in different combinations, to produce graduated shading from light to dark. You will need US Size 8 32" circular needles or longer and US Size 11 dpns or circular needles.
The Pyrifera Scarf features a waving pattern of fronds. Make it as long or as short as you like—each 10-row repeat gives you about an inch in length. This scarf can easily be made with less than one hank of any included lace yarn. You will need US Size 4 straight or circular needles.
Note: The Chinook shawl will use the entire sampler, however, you can omit the contrasting border to have enough yarn leftover to create a complimentary Pyrifera scarf. Alternately, you can get at least 6 Pyrifera scarves from each sampler if you choose not to knit the Chinook shawl.
Finished Measurements:
Shawl: With optional border: 71” wide and 38” deep; Without border: 65” wide and 35” deep.
Scarf: 8” wide x about 5 feet long
