We are more than happy to donate scrap yarn to 501(c)(3) charities with a tax ID number or IRS EIN number. The minimum donation is one 17.5 pound box of yarn, approximately 160 50gm balls. Due to limited availability, there is a limit of one donated box per request and we must limit the donation to one box for every 6 months, per charity.
Unfortunately we are not able to fulfill requests for specific yarn lines or colors. These donations are for U.S. customers.
If you can travel to our warehouse in Columbus, OH, to pick up the donation, the yarn will be donated at no cost to you. To arrange to pick up a donation at our warehouse in Columbus, OH, e-mail Andrea at Returns@CraftsAmericana.com. She will respond to your request within two weeks.
If you are unable to pick up the donation, we can ship it to you if you cover the pre-calculated shipping charges. It costs $20/box for standard shipping via Smart Post. Sorry, we can only ship to the contiguous U.S. We are not able to provide expedited shipping for yarn donations.
If you would like us to ship yarn to you, please download a copy of our Charity Donation Acknowledgement Form, fill it out completely, sign and date it, and e-mail it to email@example.com or fax it back to us at 360-260-8877 or mail it to:
13118 NE 4th Street
Vancouver, WA 98684
Once you have submitted your form, give us a call at 1-800-574-1323 and ask to speak to a Senior Operator or Supervisor about a yarn donation request. The Supervisor will confirm that your paperwork has been received and process your payment for the shipping costs. We prefer credit or debit card payments, but we can accept checks. We are not able to bill you or provide invoices for shipping, all payments must be paid up front before we can ship the donation.
We are not able to donate needles, tools, books, patterns, or other knitting supplies at this time, only yarn.
If you are a knitting guild or group looking for donations for raffle prizes or goodie bag stuffers for an event, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax it to 360-260-8877. Your request must be submitted in writing.
