Evoking images of Japanese fabric, this light, airy rectangular stole looks like it has been tie dyed. Work it with solid colors for a high-contrast Arashi Shibori look, or with variegated yarns for a more subtle effect.
This stole is knit loosely and then blocked to achieve its open look and light fabric. It is worked in garter stitch short rows, with both colors carried along the sides, so there are no ends to weave in at the color changes. The triangles are worked along the short dimension of the piece, so they will be oriented “up and down” in the finished object.
The companion pattern for this is the Shibori Horizon Stole.
