The Knit Picks office is a pretty busy place. We are always working on the catalog, or developing new products. But that doesn't mean that it's all work and no play!
I came to work wearing some awesome crocheted slippers that I bought at Last Thursday (an arts festival in Portland on Alberta Street). I love how bright and crazy they are! Stacey wanted to take my picture, and I decided to do a high kick!

Also, I think I'm wearing a checked button down shirt in almost every photo of me on the blog. I swear that I own more clothes than that!
Kelley has decided that she wants to learn how to juggle and hula hoop! It turns out, that Alison is a really good juggler and she's teaching Kelley how to juggle. Seriously, if you ever are wondering about something random, Alison will have a wealth of information about it.

Sep 8, 2010 at 8:37 AM Hi Kira, Actually, we are working to expand our selection of crochet patterns and books! Check out our website, we've recently brought in a lot of new items for crocheters. And we've been hosting a Crochet Along and the Knit Picks staff learned to crochet over the summer! You can find all of our crochet books, patterns, hooks, and notions here: http://www.knitpicks.com/cfpromo/crochet.cfm Since you like to make lace and amigurumi, have you seen Crochet So Fine (http://www.knitpicks.com/books/Crochet_So_Fine__D31338.html) and Creepy Cute Crochet (http://www.knitpicks.com/books/Creepy_Cute_Crochet_Zombies_Ninjas_Robots_and_More!__D31473.html)? I particularly love these books!
Sep 8, 2010 at 8:28 AM Hi Angela! These slippers are single crocheted, but the legs are crocheted from side to side, then attached to the foot portion. When I take the slippers off, they do leave crochet stitch marks on my feet. However, I think that if you crocheted socks at a smaller gauge, it would help the problem. We have a book with patterns for crocheted socks here: http://www.knitpicks.com/books/Crocheted_Socks!__D31379.html These slippers use worsted weight yarn, and they are pretty comfy as slippers, but I don't think that I could fit them into shoes. Plus, I think that they are awesome looking!
Sep 6, 2010 at 9:56 AM Love them!! Are the single crocheted or double? and do the crochet stitch "legs" (LOL I have no other word for them) bother your feet? I think I have sock yarn that reminds me of that colorway in my stash...I'll have to go dig it out. With love, Ang
Sep 6, 2010 at 7:26 AM Hi! I have followed knitpicks for years. I drool over your yarn constantly. The only problem I have is that I am a wonderful crocheter but novice knitter. I don't enjoy knitting half as much as I do crochet, and most of my projects that I spend more than ten dollars on are crochet. I just don't finish the knitting ones in a timely manner. So why don't you at knitpicks have more crochet patterns? Your yarns would lend themselves so well to crocheted lace and amigurumi projects. Lush afghans, baby layettes, the possibilities are endless. So what's the deal?
Sep 3, 2010 at 5:47 PM One of my son's friends in the local HS band has a didgeridoo. He CAN actually play it, although my son isn't sure exactly where he got it from..and the kid isn't telling. The sound just screams Australia!
Sep 3, 2010 at 10:37 AM Singing? Studs pop out of the wall when I sing.
Sep 2, 2010 at 7:14 PM See, yet another reason why I wish we lived in the Portland area - I so need to work at Knit Picks!!
Sep 2, 2010 at 5:06 PM Well, that would be me, Kerin. Children cry when I try to sing.
Sep 2, 2010 at 11:09 AM Hey! I have maracas and an Egyptian tin drum. We can be the worst band ever! :-D Does anyone here sing really poorly? Or maybe we should just get our work done... haha.
Sep 2, 2010 at 10:22 AM Work SHOULD be fun! I get way more done that way and it sounds like y'all do as well!
Sep 2, 2010 at 10:09 AM Hey Kelley, I just bought a ukulele. I can bring that to the office next! I don't know how to play it though... I found a website that is the ukulele version of Ravelry though, and this amuses me to no end!
Sep 2, 2010 at 10:07 AM Ok, this is ridiculous!! One has to wonder how we ever get any work done around here! Spinning, knitting, juggling, hula hooping and showing off whatever we have bought or made ourselves. Alison promised to come back this afternoon so that I can graduate to two juggling blocks.
