Oct 20, 2011 at 11:17 AM I agree with Linda, many of the darker stripes look muddy or dirty, not really a color at all, just a smear that I really don't want. I don't mind a dark contrast, just not one that's muddy looking. It keeps me from buying a yarn that I would otherwise love to have.
Aug 4, 2011 at 3:14 PM Hi Linda, the yarn recommended to work well with chroma is wool of the andes worsted. it comes in many colors, including black.
Aug 4, 2011 at 3:05 PM Hi I'm brand new to Knit Picks community. I listened to Podcast 151 and even after three tries I couldn't decipher which yarn was suggested would work as an alternate to use with Chroma. I am interested in black. Can anyone (with better hearing) tell me which yarn was recommended? Thanks.
Apr 22, 2011 at 12:24 PM Am delighted with the Chroma colors and the consistant length of each hue, and repetition of same. I was disappointed with yarn going thick and thin. This was especially poor on the first ball. Much better on the following balls I used. Jean Freeman
Feb 1, 2011 at 12:21 PM Love hearing the podcast agin. Kelly has always tried not to make it a showcase for knit picks yarns, but I loved it! Talking about the yarns and patterns to go with it would be great.
Feb 1, 2011 at 8:02 AM Is anyone from Knitpicks going to the first Columbia Gorge Fiber Festival this April in Hood River? There is a group on Ravelry started. . . I think the organizers need to get the word out
Jan 30, 2011 at 6:27 AM I was so glad so KnitPicks podcast pop up in itunes. I have really enjoyed listening to the. The new Chorma yarn looks wonderful. I am thinking it would be a great yarn for a sweater for myself. In approximately 30 years of knitting, can you believe I have only made 1 sweater for myself. Think I am due.
Jan 25, 2011 at 5:54 PM I want to love Chroma, but except for fossil and smoothie the colorways are way too contrasty in my opinion. Great for socks, maybe, but a sweater with those extra dark or extra light bands would make your eye jump all over the place. Please add some more subtle/elegant choices in the next round! (The silver sagey/pale green/silvery/cream she mentions sounds great :)
Jan 24, 2011 at 11:42 AM It was great to here Xena! Good job, ladies! Great podcast! I can't wait to try Chroma! Some more manly, neutral colorways will be nice when you can add more. (Love Fossil, though!) Maybe some paler or darker versions of the current colorways to mix with them? Maybe these would be suitable for Jared Flood's Noro Silk Garden Scarf for Christmas presents for the men in my life?
Jan 22, 2011 at 1:19 PM Oh I am so glad the podcast is back too! I have really missed it!!
Jan 21, 2011 at 5:37 PM I'm so glad the podcast is back! I started knitting last June, and I went back and listened to every episode during the fall. I've learned so much from your content! Keep it up!
Jan 21, 2011 at 9:32 AM Don't worry, Kelley will be featured in the next episode! :)
Jan 21, 2011 at 8:57 AM Where's Kelley? I miss her.
Jan 21, 2011 at 8:17 AM Great promo on Chroma... though I doubt it was needed... most of your yarns sell themselves. it was fun to hear about the yarn design process you used. The book sounds like it might be worth the money. Thanks for bringing the podcast back.
Jan 20, 2011 at 8:06 PM Thank you so much for the return of the podcasts. I find them soothing to my soul.
Jan 20, 2011 at 2:26 PM Yay so happy the podcast is back up!!!! I have missed it so! I just got a skein of the Chroma and am debating what to make with it!
Jan 20, 2011 at 12:31 PM I'm glad the podcasts are back. I missed them. Can't wait to try Chroma. (You named one of the colorways Regency. I was wondering if you know that Patons Classic Wool also has a colorway called Regency, too.) I want to make mittens with Chroma - and matching hats. I guess I'll be placing an order soon.
Jan 20, 2011 at 12:11 PM Hooray! The podcast is back!
