Crochet? Surprise!

I'm hooked! Yes, pun intended!

Over the last few months, we have had dozens of enticing crochet books arriving from a variety of publishers. At first I absolutely refused to learn to crochet. I already had a huge queue of knitting projects! And, spinning!! But, the onslaught of inspiration just kept coming.

Then, 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws and Afghans by Jan Eaton landed on my desk! Jan's book looks just like many of the quilting books that have been tempting me. Yep, yet another diversion. Anyway, once I saw crochet blocks as quilting blocks, there was no way I could possibly resist.

Even though Jan's book is set up so that you can design your own crochet block quilt type throw, I decided to go with one of her patterns just to make things a bit less stressful.

That book looks awesome. I love crocheted blankets -- they come together quickly and if you do blocks then it's really easy to add more if you decide it's not up to size. I hope you enjoy it! and definitely show us the final product :)

Oh this is exciting for me. I've crochet for years and years, but it's fun for me to see the reactions of everyone at KP who's new to it. Just wait until you see what else you can do with crochet. :D This was me last year when I started learning how to knit, and was wowed by all the knitting patterns. Funny thing is these blogs are making me want to do more crochet when I had thought I'd burned out on it.
