I have been knitting for 8 years. I taught myself to knit by watching YouTube videos and learning new techniques as needed to complete the projects I'm working on. I have a pretty terrible memory when it comes to recalling the steps required for various techniques, and find myself frequently returning to re-watch videos and re-learn steps. Our family is going camping and I will be outside of cell service for a week. I panicked because I'm knitting a cardigan (I don't often knit garments) and I was worried that I might forget how to properly do a wrap and turn, or increase stitches. Without service I would be left to rely on my own memory; this terrifying thought led me here to find a reference book I can take with me....and I found GOLD! This book is amazing! I wish I had purchased it YEARS ago! It's 320 pages of well organized instruction, illustration, and helpful tips. It is a book I will turn to over and over as I learn new techniques and review old ones. The instructions are very easy to understand, as are the illustrations. Just browsing this book I have learned better ways of doing things like striping when knitting in the round, and joining yarns mid-work. If you are looking for an ultimate knitting dictionary, this is it! I think every knitter should have this incredible book as part of their library.
