"Hansi Singh's new book collects 20 of her signature unusual and charming knitted amigurumi designs in one volume.  My favorites are the animals, many of which I have never seen in knitted form before, like the deep-sea anglerfish and praying mantis; and some of which are imaginary, like the Jackalope and Loch Ness monster.  These are unique, humorous projects that I would much rather keep for myself than give away, and which will be appreciated by teens and adults at least as much as by the kids in your life.  The variety of intermediate and advanced techniques (warning! short rows!) used to form the sculptural shapes will present a fun and engaging challenge for knitters of many skill levels.  Whether you work on simple shapes or intricate, anatomically correct knitted insects, knitting a toy is a great way to learn advanced shaping techniques and to practice newly acquired skills.  And the finished projects are pretty darn cute, too!"  Nina Isaacson, Pattern Designer
