Sock Knitting Needle Holders

$4.49

If you have ever been impaled by a sharp double-pointed needle, then you can appreciate the need for keeping yourself and your projects protected while they are still attached to the needles. These ingenious little paper board tubes protect your DPNs and hold your project while it is still in progress. They extend to hold both the shortest and longest needles, completely encasing the needles to protect their tips as well. To store your DPNs when you are not using them, just rotate the two halves of these tubes so the slots are offset. Fits up to a set of five 8” US size 9 DPNs. Package includes two tubes.

These are nearly indispensable for my DPN projects and I will even use them with my sharper circs. I am purchasing a new set after my cats had managed to destroy my first sets (my mistake for leaving them out of the storage box in the first place...) however, I have to reinforce the long holes in the tube with masking tape to prevent the whole thing from peeling and falling apart. I've looked for alternative products that encase my needles and project the same way, but have yet to find anything that works this well. All in all, I'm very happy with the product for the price and would definitely recommend it to anyone, just make sure you have some masking tape handy before you slip them on your next sock project.

I use these and like them a lot. The only downside is that you have to take your time to get the sock and needles into the case without pushing the stitches off your needle, but once it's in, it stays secure. No more broken or bent needles in my bag!

I've even made them work for my magic loop projects. I just have to fold up my cable along with my needles. I have little girls that are very curious about my knitting.

These needle holders are a great idea, but are not very sturdy. The paper on the outside peeled almost immediately, and after a few uses the tubes started to collapse. I have shored mine up with tape, and will continue to use them, but will probably not buy again.
