I do like these to block my socks but they are totally useless for men's socks! I would like to be able to purchase larger sizes as the largest size is only good for the smallest of men's feet!

My socks had been shrinking when thrown in with regular wash/regular dry laundry. (Why, yes, I am a barbarian.) But now, once the socks are out of the washer, I put them on the sock blockers and let them dry that way. Stretch them on the blocker, instead of having to stretch them to get them on my feet! It's working for me. Now I want a few more blockers. I'll wait and watch for a sale!

Just got my blockers today and as usual, Knit Picks did not disappoint me. The edges are very smooth and I am one happy customer!

I have to agree with the roughness of the edges. I ordered each of the 3 sizes last year, but was very disappointed that all of them were very rough. I also couldn't fit a sock onto them without damaging the sock. I will also be trying the sandpaper and clear nail polish to salvage these.

Please allow me to shed some light on previous reviews regarding the edges on these blockers. I purchased a set of large and a set of small blockers (for my husband's size and my size). The large set is made of smooth plastic and has nice rounded/smooth edges. The small set is made of a more textured plastic (might be a composite plastic?) and has the sharp rough-in-in-a-couple-places edges described in the review from 05-30-12. So I'm not sure if edge/plastic type depends on the size (different sizes from different suppliers) or simply the supplier KP gets that size blocker from at a particular time; the variance isn't ideal of course but both are still good products. I haven't used the smalls to actually block socks yet but I don't think 2 stars is fair...I have done some rub tests with various yarns and did not encounter snagging. Hope others find this information helpful.

These are really nice! I haven't experienced any roughness or anything, and they're nice and sturdy. I'm very pleased with them!

I bought these sock blockers over others because they were less expensive and now I know why. The edges were very rough and it was impossible to get a sock on without snagging the yarn considerably. I ended up sanding the edges with fine grade sand paper and painting them with clear nail polish and now I can get a sock on. I wanted to return them but thought it was silly to spend half of their cost shipping them back. When I buy a product I expect it to work properly right out of the package (unless otherwise stated) so I was quite annoyed that I had to "fix" the blockers before being able to use them.
