I just received my set of nickel plated dpns and had a chance to use them for the first time. They feel like knitting with silk! I love the finish and the way the stitches glide off the needle. I am a very tight knitter, and these are great!

I've tried both the wood and the nickel. The wood are fantastic, but for me, I prefer the nickel because of the lack of grip. For some people, they will want grip, and if so, don't go with nickel. They are smooth and slippery (which is great, if that's what you want). The points are great, and they hold up wonderfully.

I LOVE these needles. I like more slippery DPNS, and these are very smooth, durable (I had a set of size 1 bamboo needles that lasted about three days), and strong. They're fairly rigid, which I like because I'm a loose knitter and I need rigidity when trying to tighten up my stitches. The ONLY downside to them is that you need a needle guage because, unlike bamboo and some wood needles, these do not have the sizes stamped on them. Unless you're very good at eyeballing needle sizes, you will forget what size you have.

I'd give them an excellent rating if the needles weren't covered in this sticky gunk that I had to spend a considerable amount of time washing off. After that was done, they were just as smooth and strong as my nickel plate circular needles.

I am very disappointed in the nickel plated double needles. While they are very shiny and look nice, they are extremely difficult to knit on- especially if you are new to knitting with double points. I will be putting these needles away and now need to purchase wooden needles to replace my set. :(
