A-Tension Span is a reversible hat worked at worsted weight gauge with yarn held double. This pattern is great for those leftover sock and worsted weight yarns.
The hat can be worked 3 ways; 4 strands of fingering weight held double OR 2 strands of fingering weight held double and 1 strand of worsted weight, OR 2 strands of worsted weight.
The hat is worked from the bottom up, knit-side out with alternating sections of “knit/purl 1 below” (fisherman’s rib). This creates a squishy, stretchy hat that still has structure. Colors are worked in stripes every other round. One side of the hat will result in knit stripes, the other will result in marled stripes.
