Taos Saltillo Jacket Pattern

Directions for this project in The Natural Knitter, shown below. This sweater was based on a traditional Spanish Saltillo design with a little alteration. The Saltillo pattern came to the New World from Spain; the Moors originally brought it to Spain from Turkey. One of western North America's signature flowers, the Indian Paintbrush, inspired the stranded band of flowers. This colorful design calls for experience in intarsia and Fair Isle techniques. Shown in 100% Peruvian Highland Wool Worsted Weight Bare (MC) and Wool of the Andes Kettle-Dyed Jay (A), Gold (B), Auburn (C) and Spruce (D).- Needles:
