Content: 74% Suri Alpaca, 22% Peruvian Highland Wool, 4% Nylon
Weight: Super Bulky Weight
Gauge: 1.5 - 2.5 sts = 1" on #11+ needles (8.0+mm)
Amount: 143 yards/50 gram ball
Care: Hand Wash/Dry Flat
Brushed Suri alpaca truly is a dream. It has the appearance of quality mohair, but, instead of mohair's typical itchiness, you have the dreamy softness of alpaca. This yarn is incredibly lightweight. We are particularly excited by the possibilities for lap robes and afghans. Knit in simple garter stitch, a lap robe would be light as a feather but warm as a down comforter. What a wonderful idea for holiday gifts! Other options include scarves, hats and cardigans. The hand-dyed colors are done over a neutral but colored base, such as grey or natural ecru, to give a deeper richness to the color and added marbling to the texture. The results are breathtaking.

“I made an afghan with this yarn, it's light as a feather and keeps me warmer than what I ever imagined. It also makes nice sweaters and has a Mohair-type look. I recommend using both the regular and hand dyed yarns to mix up and have fun with.” Daily Knitter
