“I'm going to cut right to the punchline: the Knit Picks Options set has earned a permanent place in my knitting bag. Why? 1. The tips are pointier than any other needle I've ever used. They will slide right through a strand of yarn if you're not paying attention, but mostly they're just a lovely, precise tool to work with. 2. The tips screw on to the cables and don't come loose until you unscrew them. 3. The cable/tip join is smooth. 4. The cable is VERY thin, flexible and doesn't fight back.” Knitty, Fall 2006

“I keep one of those Knit Picks interchangeable sets (with both wood and metal) in my suitcase for knitting emergencies.” www.Yarnharlot.com, February 2009

“I took the plunge and purchased the Knit Picks Options nickel plated needle set. Boy, howdy, did these come in handy! Not only were the needles glossy smooth and the joins nearly undetectable, but the spare cables handily served as stitch holders as well. I love the way the cables flex.” www.azurerocket.blogspot.com, March 2009

“I like the Knit Picks needles for my speed knitting because they have very special long and lean tips and especially sharp points which are essential in speed knitting.” Miriam Tegels, World’s Fastest Knitter

“I use the Knit Picks Options nickel plated circular needle set, and I love them. The joins are smooth and the needles are easy on the hands, making the knitting so much more enjoyable.” Kelly Z., Knit Picks customer

"I want to express how much I enjoy your store and your podcasts. The podcasts have been a source of information, inspiration, enthusiasm, personal sharing and humor. Thank you for introducing me to so many wonderful knitters, books and techniques. Your interchangeable needles are the best to my mind." Margaret K., Knit Picks customer

“For years the only needles I wanted to use were [your competitors]; expensive [your competitors]. Then I tried your nickle plated needles at a fair and reasonable price and they are every bit as good as the competition. Perhaps even better as the cable seems to be softer and more flexible. Thank you for these wonderful needles.” Lindy B., Knit Picks customer

"I've been a customer of yours from before you sold your own brand of yarn. When you came out with your own interchangeable needle set I was a bit skeptical. I'd been using [your competitors] needles for quite a while and was happy with them. I have to admit I scoffed at the idea of a tiny wrench to tighten the cable/needle join. But I discovered the problem with [your competitors] needles is that plastic wears out. I'ma very "active" knitter and often I'd be knitting away and suddenly the tip and cable would separate and I'd have to scramble to pick up stitches. This started happening pretty regularly. It wasn't just a faulty batch of cables and tips either. Anyway, I then started knitting cautiously, which is the wrong thing to do: never be timid in your endeavors. So I decided to try your needles, tiny wrenches and all. I think they're great. I can furiously knit away while I'm watching a 1950's sci-fi movie and never lose any stitches. So I'd just like to say, I was wrong to scoff." Sara B., Knit Picks Customer

"When I discovered the Knit Picks Options, I thought I couldn't buy the entire set, so I tried a few points and cables, and fell in love. I soon discovered that I COULD buy the entire set. About that time the Harmony wood needle tips came out, and I purchased a few in larger sizes for use with my bulkier weight yarns. Love them too. When I saw the straights come out, I thought, "Oh, no, I can't resist!" Before I could purchase a set, one of my good friends at work bought me a pair as a retirement gift. And I had never even told her that I wanted them. Though I did turn her on to Knit Picks, as she is a beginning knitter, and needed to be pointed in the right direction. She is the second of my work friends that I told about Knit Picks, and both are sold.

The quality is too high and the prices much too reasonable to go anywhere else." Susan, Knit Picks Customer

"Before I left Toronto in 2007 a friend of mine offered to include a set of nickel-plated, interchangeable circular knitting needles for me with her order. She gave me the set of needles when they arrived, I moved to Spain and didn't unpack my knitting until last month. At which point I finally took the circular needle set out of its' original packaging and proceeded to continue with my cardigan I began 1-1/2 years ago. It felt wonderful! I don't know what I was waiting for.

Much to my surprise the circulars from Knit Picks are absolutely wonderful to use. They are lightweight, have nicely pointed tips, very easy to change sizes and the flexible cables don't have a mind of their own -- so easy to use!" Nora B., Knit Picks Customer

These needles are nearly perfect. The tips are just right, the length is just right to hold comfortably, and the versatility is endless. There was a problem with the original cables, but the new version is much stronger and sturdier. A tip for knitters who have a problem with the needle coming unscrewed from the cable - use a little scrap of rubbery shelf liner to hold the needles so you can tighten it firmly. Customer service has been extremely generous with replacing the old cables but the new incarnation seems to be holding strongly.

Tip: if you hold the needle with that grippy shelf liner and use the tightener the needle should not unscrew. I have had no problem when using this method. I love these so much I want another set. BEST NEEDLES EVER!!!

I am updating my review given on 6/17. I didn't mean to imply that these unscrew often! Hardly at all, but can't be too careful.

I should probably take off a star because mine do occasionally start to unscrew, but I think if you make them as tight as you can and just remember to check every few rows they work wonderful and are a great value. So glad I purchased.

Love these needles! The cables are nice and pliable, even after being coiled up in the package. The tips stay tight on, and they are so smooth to knit with! I had originally purchased the harmony/rainbow wood needles because they were so pretty but wood was not for me, these are so much better.

I'd love to give these five stars. I drooled over them for months before I finally treated myself to a set. And I use them constantly and love them. But already one purple cord has pulled out of it's metal end (I crazy-glued it back in, but it still becomes unattached regularly) and one tip on one purple cord arrived with bum threads, so it doesn't fit into the needle tips. It's a quality control issue, I guess, and not indicative of the overall quality of the products. But it's still annoying to have two pieces of my set that I can't use. I already had a purple cord from a single set I bought a few years ago, so I added that to this set to complete it. For the pieces that work how they're supposed to work, they're just great! Smooth and fast and lovely. :)

I received my needles and I love them. They're smooth, and the cables are pliable and very bendy, which is nice. But, I really feel like they need to change the length of the cable description. The cables themselves aren't 24" and 32", to get those lengths, you have to add the tips. And it *does* specify that in the description, but I personally feel like in the actual details box, that they should change it to reflect the actual lengths, which is like 14.5" and 22.5". I've never seen a company measure the cables this way, and I think it's a backwards way to do it. Aside from the lengths being weird, they really are a very nice set of needles. Well worth the cost of the set.

I love the flexiblity of the cables, the joins are smooth, the points are sharp, and the tips are "Oooo, shiny!" I had been struggling with another maker's set that had stiff cables, finally had enough of that and bought this lovely nickel plated set. Whew!

It was love at first row. I'm working on my first knitted afghan and the circular needles I WAS using were like handling a writhing snake. I had to fight them every few seconds to get them into a comfortable knitting position. They also snagged the stitches each time I moved the work toward the points. Neither of these problems with this Nickel Plated set. Stitches move smoothly along and the cable is so flexible - my knitting is going so much faster than before. Maybe I will finish this afghan during my lifetime after all.

Just after Xmas this year I ordered a set of Options Nickel Plated Interchangeables. I have had them about a month and used them alot. Wow, I love my new needles. All my life I had used Aluminum needles even my newest pairs after part of one project had nicked tips so there was alot of drag no matter the fiber of the yarn. Options are so slick and the tips are more defined so at least for me, knitting is much faster. I also ordered 1 set of Sunstruck tips that I have not used yet but I can tell I am going to love those also. If any of you ladies out there wonder if the price is worth it compared to the aluminum, I can tell you it is-these are much better quality and it enhances the joy of knitting. You can feel the quality in your hand as you knit.

LOVE Options!! I am such a tight knitter that regular rubber/plastic tubing on my circular needles inevitably rips and then my project falls to the ground as stitches unravel. These cables are awesome! They don't get twisted and the needle tips are super easy to work with!

I LOVE these needles, by far my favorite to knit with and I've only had them three days! The flexible cables and smooth joins make knitting effortless and more enjoyable. I wont be using any other needles in the future, definitely worth every penny.

I was frustrated by this product at first because the needles kept coming unscrewed from the circular cable, and I even lost a row of stitches once when the cable fell off completely. Then I noticed there were tightening keys included in the package (oops)! The key has helped significantly, and I can now knit without fear of losing anything. I love the versatility and convenience of being able to change needle size when I need to, even mid-project. For a beginner like me, this set is an affordable way to start a needle collection. It has most sizes I need to use on beginner-friendly projects. It doesn't have DPNs, but I have used the circular cables for the Magic Loop Method in order to knit sleeves and hats. The nickel plated needles are certainly slippery, which is awkward for me when starting a new project because the needles flop around and want to slip out. But once I'm a few rows in, my knitting starts to fly.

I really enjoy these needles, the stitches slide smoothly over them. My only complaint is that they come unscrewed more often than I'd like and I have to use a key occasionally. Other than that small detail they're very good needles, especially for a first set of circulars.

Love my set! When choosing a pattern I always favor those that I can knit with my circular needles.

Love the interchangablity and convenience of having all the needle sizes and cables right at your finger tips. Be careful and don't tug at the needle to pull it through the fabric. I had two cables break off right at the hub of the attachment into which the needle screws.

I love these needles! They came in the mail the other day and I haven't stopped knitting since. I love everything about these needles.

I knit with nothing else. Love the nickel-plated. Love the purple. Just always losing my tightening keys....

I hate circular needles because the cables are always too stiff. A friend had a Knitpicks set that I tried and liked so I took the plunge and bought the stainless set. They are terrific. The cables are extremely flexible. I found that using a piece of rubber to hold the stainless needle while tightening it to the cable assures it stays tight. They are super smooth for fast knitting. I could not be happier!
