Options Nickel Plated Fixed Circular Knitting Needles

$5.49 - $8.49

The very smallest needle sizes and shortest circular needle lengths do not accommodate the interchangeable screw feature of our Options needles. For this reason, we rounded out our complete needle product line with these durable fixed circular needles in all the sizes and lengths that are not available as interchangeable circular needles. Our classic circular needles have the same super flexible cable with secure and smooth cable to needle join, slick nickel-plated needle surface and tapered tips as the Options needles.

The metric sizing system is more precise than the US sizing system. We offer two US size 1 - equivalent to 2.25mm and 2.50mm and two US size 2 - equivalent to 2.75mm and 3.00mm.

The 16" needle tips are 3 3/8 inches long, allowing for an easily formed complete circle for small circumference knitting. All of the other needle tips (24", 32", 40" and 47") are 5 1/8 inches long. Since our cable is super flexible, the Magic Loop method of sock knitting can be accomplished with the 32" needles for one sock at a time. For two socks at a time, try either the 40" or 47" needles.

“For years the only needles I wanted to use were [your competitors]; expensive [your competitors]. Then I tried your nickle plated needles at a fair and reasonable price and they are every bit as good as the competition. Perhaps even better as the cable seems to be softer and more flexible. Thank you for these wonderful needles.” Lindy B., Knit Picks Customer

"When I discovered the Knit Picks Options, I thought I couldn't buy the entire set, so I tried a few points and cables, and fell in love. I soon discovered that I COULD buy the entire set. About that time the Harmony wood needle tips came out, and I purchased a few in larger sizes for use with my bulkier weight yarns. Love them too. When I saw the straights come out, I thought, "Oh, no, I can't resist!" Before I could purchase a set, one of my good friends at work bought me a pair as a retirement gift. And I had never even told her that I wanted them. Though I did turn her on to Knit Picks, as she is a beginning knitter, and needed to be pointed in the right direction. She is the second of my work friends that I told about Knit Picks, and both are sold.

The quality is too high and the prices much too reasonable to go anywhere else." Susan, Knit Picks Customer

I just wish the larger sizes came in longer lengths. I'm knitting a cowl, and I have t buy a new pair of needles to do it because I don't have size 6 needles in length 32. These are my favorite needles and I really wish they came as fixed circulars. Oh well. I guess I'll just buy some new tips and a cable.

I Love my Knit Picks but I'm tired of the interchangeables, wish you would offer fixed in all sizes.

I just had to write a review after trying my new KnitPicks small diameter fixed circulars. I bought all the full & half sizes up to US 3. And since I wanted duplicate circs, (to enable having multiple sock or lace WIPs) I decided to also buy some regular (non-lace tip version) Addi, Hiya-Hiya, and ChiaoGoo in various small sizes to try and compare. I was pretty confident the KP needles would be good quality, because I already have their interchangeables, (metal and wood) but I wondered how they would fare against the more expensive brands. I thought I might be missing something. :) Well, I have to say, I was simply **stunned** by the quality of KnitPicks' fixed circulars! The others are very nice quality, as one would expect for the price. (anywhere from $3 - $6 more per needle!) No surprise there. The happy surprise was that the KP needles are JUST as nice, and in some cases, better! The 40" KP circular cables are the most supple/flexible of all needles in the bunch, and they had absolutely ZERO memory... right out of the package! Like the other brands, the join between cable and needle is smooth enough for delicate yarn, the tips pointy enough for ssk, k2tog, et cet. (Exception is the Addi Turbo, which is quite a bit more blunt than any of the others) I much prefer KPs silky nickel plating over the Hiya-Hiya and ChiaoGoo steel. (The Addi Turbo is nickel coated too, but the blunt tip is a deal breaker for me) Out of all the KP needles I rec'd, one circular does have a much thicker, much less flexible cable. Things happen sometimes; maybe that was a leftover from the time a while back and when they were going through an adjustment period with their new manufacturer. But no problem. One quick call to KP customer service and there will be a replacement in the mail, without me having to send the needle back or fill out any forms. That's another thing in KnitPicks favor. With any of the others, I'd be required to mail it back, or return it to a store (usually at my own expense) before I could receive a replacement. Thanks yet again, KnitPicks, for allowing me to make the most of my crafting budget, without having to compromise on quality or service!

Love these needles, but wish there were more sizes in the 24" length! I use this length exclusively for double circular needle knitting and unfortunately these beautiful needles just don't come in any sizes bigger than 3.25 mm. Even going up to 4mm would be a big help..hopefully they will at some point in the future!

I have been knitting socks with these needles for the past 2 years. The tip is sharp just enough, the cable is very flexible and has a smooth joint. I am very happy with these, just hope they won't stop making them.

I purchased the nickel plated fixed circulars years ago. I loved them. Recently, I had a kitten help me tame my knitting, which resulted in a bite through in cord of my original set. This meant I re-ordered the size 1 nickel plated fixed circulars... I was a bit dismayed to discover the tips on the new needles were dull; as in, they were NO LONGER the wondrously sharp tips of old. The new cable was thicker, which seemed to be a good thing; however, in using the needles, the join is also pretty rough, which may be a result of the change in cords. The join snags my knitting every time I have to shift my knitting from the cord to the tip. My stitches have to be worked carefully over the join to keep from fraying the yarn. What happened?!?! Positive = thicker cord. Negatives = dull points and rough cord/needle joins.

I really like the Addi sock rocket, but they are kinda pricey. I heard these are very similar to those so I bought 2 pairs in 2.25mm and 2.50mm both in 32" to try out. The tips are very dull compared to Addi sock rocket, but sharper than Addi turbo (I couldn't knit anything with turbo because of the dull tips). The nickel plating finish feels the same, which is the biggest selling point because I like slick needles. The cable is very bumpy and has weird bends that don't go away. Which I don't think is an issue at all since I knit socks in magic loop and the cables are smooth enough to slide yarn over no problem. The join part the cable is slightly larger than end of the needles so yarn is supposed to slide over, which I find nicer than the Addi ones because some I've used have the metal part sticking out too much and always catching the yarn. I've knitted one pair of socks on each set of needles already and absolutely love them!

Better than my addi Turbo Sock Rockets! I use the size #0-#2 in the 47" length for my toe up, two at a time, magic loop socks. Perfect sharp points and thin cable! I think I own 12 pairs in different lengths. and I own the Options Interchangeable Nickel Plated Circular Knitting Needle Set and it's one of my favorite sets and many of the Circular Knitting Needle Cables - Purple.

This is my first pair of nickel plated needles. I ordered size 8 and 9 in the circular 16 inch so I could make hats. I am typically a tight knitter and although I really love the harmony needles (I own them in double points only) I decided to try these. I am glad I did. They are easy to knit with and it goes faster since the yarn glides on them so smooth. I do have to make sure I keep tabs on my yarn so it doesn't slip off but I really like these. The points on them are nice;not quite as sharp as harmony, yet sharp enough. The cable is nice and flexible and not stiff like the Clover Bamboo ones I own. I didn't need to put the cables in hot water first to loosen them up. Think I will be ordering more of these in the circular size. Thank you Knitpicks!

These are great needles to work with, very smooth! I just wish they also came in larger sizes!!!

Best ever fixed circular knitting needles. My favorites are the size #0 and #1 in 47" length. I knit toe up 2 at a time socks and these are perfect!!! Why pay more for ADDI's when these are at least as good?!? and sometimes they are on sale! ;-)

Bought a pair of these in US size 2 to work with Malabrigo's Silky Merino yarn, which did not go well with my wooden circulars. These just arrived today, and I am extremely happy with them! They work beautifully with the Silky Merino, are smooth without being blunt and precise without snagging. Great product.

I wish the small sizes had just a bit sharper tips. But cable is the absolute best.

These needles are the BEST! They are so incredibly smooth, I will NEVER use another knitting needle

I have to say that these are the BEST needles I have ever used for lace and sock knitting. I make sure I have multiple pairs of these needles for my many projects. Recently, I had my needles confiscated by Paris airport security. Since the needles are inexpensive they are not a big deal to replace!

Love, love, love these needles!!! They are so smooth and fast and little! I'm going to keep adding to my collection. I've only used the interchangeables in the past, but needed the smaller for hats. One more reason to love KnitPicks!

Just got these in today and began knitting with them immediately and I love them! Super smooth and very fast. The join between needle and cable can barely be felt, so the yarn just flies over it. I'm not as pleased with the cables as I thought I'd be since they seem a bit stiff - hoping they will become more flexible after more use.

5 out of 5 stars

I absolutely LOVE these needles! They have the most flexible cables and smoothest joins of any needles I have tried. And I have tried a lot! These are also less expensive than the cheap ones from craft stores. I just bought the small ones for socks, so I am now ordering the full set. I will never use any other needles again. I would recommend anyone who is using circulars to purchase these!

I love these needles! But I do wish that they had the size printed on them somewhere. I have to dig up a needle sizer when I am looking for a particular size.

4 out of 5 stars

I bought 5 circular needles in different sizes to make socks. The join at the base of the needle and the cable was bad; the yarn snagged there. KnitPicks replaced all 5 circular needles. The replacement needles were much better; however the yarn still slightly catches at the joins. I have to knit with a loose tension on these needles. I still like them and will use them.

I was using a very expensive brand of circular lace needles, but I decided to try some of the Knit Picks needles. I have never thought twice about using the more expensive needles again. The cables on the Knit Picks needles are supple and durable, and the points are perfect. LOVE!
