Jacquard Acid Yarn Dyes - 27 Colors

$3.28

Can’t find yarn in a color you like? Don’t worry, we have you covered with these colorfast dyes. They will brilliantly color any protein fiber (wool, alpaca, cashmere, silk) and nylon. Simply choose from our selection of Bare yarns and dye with one or several of the 27 colors shown. Try the Starter Set of 6 colors to experience a nice range of colors, or you can play with blending dyes to get a custom color. Each 1/2 oz. jar will dye approximately 2 lbs (900 grams) of fiber, depending on the depth of shade.

Use our natural yarns and try dyeing for the first time by following the directions in our Kool-Aid® Dyeing Tutorial, Jacquard® Dye Tutorial. or our Gradated Dyeing Tutorial.

Download the manufacturer's instructions to learn more about the process.

We know it's obvious, but also worth repeating: Final color results may vary. (Sometimes surprises can be tremendously pleasing, but if you are not happy with the results, don't despair. Overdyeing can cover a multitude of mistakes!)

I had the same issue with black until I realised I wasn't using enough dye powder, now I'm getting a true black! At least as black as I think I can get at home!

So, I've tried a few of the dyes and some of them (sapphire blue, fire red) I love: vibrant, saturated, and mixing the two makes beautiful purples. But the jet black...it's really bad. It's NOT black. First of all, the pigment on it's own looks red. But when it hits yarn, it turns out a really ugly brownish-grey. Absolutely not even close to black.
