Note: This yarn was formerly known as Essential Kettle Dyed Sock Yarn. Some of the colors already have the new labels. The yarn is identical, we are just changing the labels.
Stroll Kettle Dyed Sock Yarn is perfect for gift socks because it is machine washable. The softness of the superwash Merino wool makes the socks a special treat for your feet. The subtle variations in the color are created by kettle dyeing the yarn. This is a special method of hand dyeing yarn in which the yarn is completely submersed in a single color of dye in a large kettle and then manipulated a little to encourage the dye to saturate more deeply in some areas than others. This effect provides more depth to your finished knits than just a solid. Stockinette will really show off the color gradations, but these same gradations will give an even richer look to textured knits.
Note: The beauty of kettle dyed yarn is its uniqueness and depth of color. Because of the artisan small-batch dyeing process, there will be slight variations of color from skein to skein. For larger projects we recommend alternating between skeins throughout the project to avoid unwanted striping or pooling. This yarn is sold in 100 gram skeins so that one skein will make an average size pair of socks
