Domovoi Shawl Pattern

Directions for this project in Folk Shawls, shown below. The domovoi of Russia were elf-like helpers whose specialty was domestic affairs. Every home and farm had one. Domovoi were almost always invisible because they did not like to be noticed but went about their work quietly, protecting the home and helping the residents with their chores. This simple story was the basis for the name of an equally simple design with much use. The finished piece is a very long rectangular shawl with a simple pattern and a knitted-on lace border; providing perfect comfort for wrapping around your shoulders on a cold night in front of the fireplace. Shown in Andean Treasure Hot Rod Heather.- Needles:
