Wendy Bernard’s Custom Knits is a perfect place to start if you’re looking for sweater patterns that a. do not require much seaming and b. will actually fit. The book includes many adorable patterns for simple, basic (and not-so basic) knits, along with tips on taking your own measurements, altering patterns, and even creating your body double as using duct tape to create a dress form. With clear instructions and lots of photos, Wendy manages to make knitting sweaters seem approachable and non-intimidating for beginner knitters like me, but offers enough variety to appeal to knitters of all skill levels. The creative photography and styling is an added bonus!
