“Our review panel was in complete agreement: Comfy lives up to its name. Stacey and Siobhan noted that, unlike many 100% cotton yarns, Comfy didn’t hurt their hands while the worked with it. Stacey also pointed out that it doesn’t squeak on the needles, and it feels like a “cotton ball.” Knitters Review, May 2008

"I'd never much cared for cotton yarns until I tried Comfy. It's springy, has wonderful drape but doesn't sag, it's soft, lightweight and blocks amazingly - it's everything I love about wool, but in cotton! It's now one my favorites and has changed my mind about designing with cotton yarn."
-Kerin D., Knit Picks Garment Designer

“Comfy is Knit Picks’ newest. It is worsted weight but knits up light and thin. It is 75% Pima cotton and 25% acrylic. For the second time in recent memory I have fallen in love with a synthetic (blend)… This yarn is soft and caressing, and very summery. Perfect for a tank.” Obsessed with Knitting, May 2008.

The feel is great. If not for that I would have given it a fair. I made an alligator baby blanket out of it. I question the description of it as worsted. It is a very light worsted weight. I used a size 6 instead of a 9 needle. Although that gave me the proper width gauge as it turned out I had to add about 15-20 rows to establish the proper proportions for the blanket. I do like the yarn enough to have used it for a second project... a size 5 sleeveless little girl dress. It turned out well. I am holding my breath though since the blanket pilled incredibly even before I was finished with it. BIG disappointment... I did read about pilling in the other reviews... I was forewarned, but still amazed. This is one of the better choices at this price point. Probably another reason I don't regret it too much.

My go-to yarn for baby blankets. Great colors and SO soft! Yes, it pills after some time, but it's worth the feel for baby. My son's blanket has minimal pill after two years of use, but it's still very soft. I wouldn't use this yarn for structured projects though.

Love this yarn for the Hue Shift Afghan though more colors would be helpful. And a soft buttery yellow would be awesome as this yarn works great for pastel blankets.

LOVE this yarn, bought it in sea foam to try out and it's just sooo soft and beautiful looking. Can't wait to knit with it!

The feel is great. The value is there BUT it pills! I made a complicated baby blanket and by the time I finished it the dark grey parts had hints of the eggshell stripes! UGH... I took the step to wash a sample so that I could compare it to another cotton blend yarn. This is definitely softer but I am truly sad about the amount of pilling!

Disappointed - this yarn pills awful. The cost was low and I love the color (Lullaby/Magenta) but only wore the sweater twice - it is covered with pills. The yarn is too soft for adult knits in my opinion.

Bought 22 balls of Comfy Worsted to use for two pullover sweaters for my grandkids. There were two knots...total. Out of that many balls of yarn, that is great! Was worried that the Pomegranate color would bleed, so I hand washed it by itself at first; very little dye showed up in the water. There is a bit of pilling, but it's nothing worth getting excited about. Not yet sure about durability as the sweaters are still new. But my "it's itchy, I hate it" grandson loves his new hoodie!

I really like this yarn. It is very soft, as so many have said. I do agree with one reviewer that it doesn't seem much like a true worsted weight, though. And like so many have said, one of the colors I purchased (Sea Foam) is much more bright than displayed. I understand that internet pictures can not be true to reality. But over all I really love it.

I love how this yarn feels, and I think it's great for baby items. It doesn't wash very well, though as others have pointed out. After the first wash it pills, and after several washes it looks kind of matted and old. I still love to use it for baby stuff-- it's still waaayyy better than your average craft store yarn-- but it doesn't make very good heirloom quality stuff as it just doesn't hold up as well as I'd like.

Question: most of the reviews are excellent but I'm not sure what to make of the 3 or 4 reviews that said this yarn pills?

4 out of 5 stars

I agree with several reviewers who said that colors are not truc on sample page. My blue green is really grees. 5D977A

I LOVE how this yarn feels. Its super cozy and soft and easy to knit with. But, the colors shown online arent true to life... at all. The creme brulee is a pretty buttery yellow online, but in person its a bright, almost green yellow. The celestial looks nearly turquoise online, in person it is dark blue/navy. The pomegranate is a purpley color online, in person it is a dark, reddish brown, no purple hue at all. I wish they would take better photos of the colors!!

How can you get rid of Crème Brulee?! You will have nothing in the yellow family, 3 different greens and now not one yellow???

PILLED. PILLED. PILLED. Made a hooded cardigan as a sweater I could wear OFTEN. After wearing it just 3 times it was COVERED WITH PILLS... especially in areas of high wear. Lots of work to have it look lousy immediately. Very disappointed.

This yarn sheds and pills and picks up everything but money & men. I made several garments with this yarn this summer and began wearing them in the Fall and that's when I saw how much of a problem it is to wear and use the items. One color block jacket I designed and spent hours knitting sheds so much that I can not wear it at all. Very disappointed! I love knit picks yarns but this is a travesty!

I rarely write reviews, but I can't not when I love something so much! The comfy worsted yarn is my absolute favorite, and the only yarn I will use to make baby blankets and loveys. The muted colors, the definition (especially in a crochet bobble stitch!) I have made several for my own children and they've withstood countless washings/dryings and are still soft as ever. It's non-irritating. When gifting a blankie, I always hear back that "it's his/her favorite blanket". Please make a Navy, and package in larger skeins! My typical baby blanket needs 10-11 skeins and that's a lot of weaving at the end! :)

Great yarn! Very soft and comfy just like its name and great stitch definition.

Please bring back this yarn in the Douglas Fir colorway!!! :(

Don't buy this yarn. It sheds & pills badly. I designed and knit a color block kimono in 5 colors of this yarn and now it is unwearable. I am so angry for wasting my time, to say nothing of the money I spent. Now this kimono picks up everything but money & men!

I have ordered this yarn in the past and loved it. This time, I found that the yarn split a lot and are a lot of fibres in the yarn. I will not order this yarn again. A little overpriced as it is not a good quality yarn.

i have just completed the Rosebud baby blanket in Creme Brûlée. The color is perfect for the nursery fabric my niece chose - not the typical baby colors but corals, lt gold, soft robin's egg blue, lt pea green. This color is a good compliment and so very soft. It did shed lint on my clothes so am concerned about linting and how it will wash and maybe put lint on other things washed with it...

I love cotton and cotton-blend yarns, and this one is fabulous to knit with! As many have said, it's great for baby blankets. It makes me really sad, though, that it's only 109 yards. That's a heck of a lot of ends to bury. Can you package this in 100g skeins???? That's my only complaint. Otherwise, love it!!

this yarn is sooooo soft .The end product is a real treat for the person who gets to wear it. I dont know how it will wash hope it does well tho.Price is good also great for baby things .easy to work with. Def buying again.

Great yarn. Super soft & cushy & really nice stitch definition. Great quality for the price.

I cannot say enough good things about this yarn. The name, Comfy, is a big understatment. More like heaven!! Sooo soft, nice quality. I got the color Rosehip, which is a little more dull than in the photo, but overall, a great yarn!

4 out of 5 stars

This is my go-to yarn for baby blankets. The result is soft, comfy, and suitable for all seasons. In my last order, however, EACH of the purples - Lady Slipper, Vinca, Lilac and Blackberry - had knots. One skein had two knots! Very annoying. Blanket still turned out great, had a few more ends to weave in.

This is superb yarn for making chemo caps for children. The colors are bright, do not fade, and are easily mixed for more colorful and appealing caps. The texture is soft, not irritating, and feels good. Stitch definition is excellent and makes the knitting fun to learn new stitches, and a self-graphed design, or anything to give a cap some personality. (And the price is right!)

I really liked working with this yarn. Drape and stitch definition were good. But both colors I chose were definitely different than what they appear. White is definitely not white - it is cream or ivory. Sea foam is much darker and dustier than it looks online. Now I'm afraid to try other colors.

This yarn feels great to knit. I am disappointed as it sheds terribly. I have been knitting with a towel on my lap. The sweater I am knitting is black and it leaves behind fiber residue wherever it touches. I will only be able to wear the cardigan over black clothes due to the shedding. I won't be buying this yarn again.

I just started a sweater using this yarn in the Ivory color. It's sooooo soft! The sweater has a fairly complex pattern, with a cable up the front, and the stitch definition I am getting with this yarn is quite good. I LOVE the feel of this yarn, and with the bit of acrylic in it helps the stitches to retain their shape. It's a joy to work with, I don't want to put it down it feels so good to the touch. lol I will say that the color shown on the website for the Ivory was a good bit lighter than the actual yarn was when I received it. The yarn is more of a light tan in color, but not unpleasant looking. Just lighter than I had expected, and not quite as light as I would have liked. I can't wait to start more projects using this yarn. :)

I cannot say anything good about this yarn. It pilled and split as I was working it and by the time I had finished the sweater, looked as if it had been owned for years. I made this as a gift but am going to start over again with different yarn.

Wondered why the yardage is nowhere included in the description...

This is my favorite yarn. Soft and comfortable against my skin and has great drape thanks to the fluffiness of the acrylic. I would love to see some heathers please!

This is my go-to yarn for amigurumi. I love it. KnitPicks, PLEASE introduce a brighter yellow to the colour choices. I make tons of children's items from this yarn and the only bright colour missing from your selection is yellow! Creme brulee just isn't cutting it.

Love this yarn. Wish you had it in dark and light denim colors. I do a lot of knitting for boys and have a hard time finding yarn for them.

I love this yarn. Please add more colors, especially to the fingering weight!

I really wanted to love this yarn, but alas... It sheds like crazy. I knitted a terrific top (the Turnstone Pullover), but don't dare wear it with anything dark - I get covered with fibers, even after several washings. Sorry!

I absolutely love this yarn! I've used it for almost every project I've done in the past year. It's super soft, has great stitch definition, and creates really wonderful, and professional looking products. My only complaint is that the balls are so small I end up with tons of loose ends to weave in from all the changes.

2 out of 5 stars

The yarn was lovely to work with and the colors are gorgeous, but I was very disappointed after washing the baby blanket I made. I washed it on the delicate cycle and tumbled dry low and the piece came out covered with lint from the various colors I used. The item now looks used and unsuitable to gift.

Love love love this yarn, its soft, knits up details nicely. and did I mention soft. yeah, its baby soft! great for the wool alergies and vegans :)

Bought this in crème brulee and black to knit the Buzzy Bee Baby Blanket pattern for a co-worker. It has wonderful stitch definition and is so soft and luxurious! Cannot wait to finish it and present it as a gift.

This is a beautiful yarn, but calling it worsted weight is kind of a stretch. It seems lot more like dk/sport. I read the reviews and thought it would be perfect for a pattern I had in mind, but it's just a bit too thin. I will have to find a use for it though, because it really is a nice yarn.

I have used Comfy for baby items. Its a very nice soft yarn, and the color choice is great. However, I have landed on Shine as my absolute fav cotton blend yarn. The texture and stitch definition is so wonderful and I just love working with it. My gifts in shine get rave reviews.

5 out of 5 stars

This is my all-time favorite yarn. It is wonderful to work with and the finished project is gorgeous! I will definitely be buying more.

I LOVE this yarn! I got it for making fingerless mittens, and the sheen and drape would make a wonderful, beautiful sweater. I have really enjoyed working with it and I look forward to seeing how it wears and washes, though with what I've seen it's probably going to be amazing. Keep in mind, though - it's cotton, so it has absolutely NO stretch.

As part of a group called The Community Baby Blanket Project, we have made 6 baby blankets with Comfy Worsted. We love it. More than 25 knitters and crocheters are currently working on an additional 8 blankets. The yarn is so soft and the colors are incredibly versatile.

This is the BEST yarn. It is the softest thing I've ever worked with and it lays so nicely. I made a beautiful baby blanket for my new niece and I cannot wait to snuggle her in it! Thanks for having such a great yarn at such an affordable price!

Terrific yarn! I used it for a baby blanket a year ago and just saw it again tonight. After 8 months heavy use, the colors are still vibrant and it is as soft as can be. It looks like new. The parents say they get lots of compliments. Thank you Knit Picks for incredible yarns.

This is the perfect yarn for children's things, washes well and soft! Beautiful colors and the value for the price is like no where else. Love this stuff. This is what I will use over and over.

I love Comfy and have knitted 4 sweaters in it now (fingering, sport and worsted) It's my go to cotton/summer/baby yarn. The colors are magnificent, it's super soft and it washes like a dream. Do beware though that it "grows" I highly recommend if making a garment to WASH AND DRY your gauge swatch so you know what to expect. It will shrink back up a little in the dryer, but not much.

We just made a charity blanket as a group project using Comfy. Both knitters and crocheters loved working with it. I blocked and washed the blanket and the colors held beautifully. The blanket is super-soft!

I looooove this yarn!!! Its so soft and knits and crochets up so qucikly!

This yarn is not a cotton yarn, it's a SUPER cotton yarn! I do in this moment a blancket for the baby of my sister and I think I never love a yarn like that! I will buy it again, it's sure!!
